|
|
Just as the title says. I'd love to trade straight across the board. Or even better, if someone wants to gift me an MKH416, I'll certainly gift my TLM103 to someone, per the "Great Giveaway Project".
I now wish I didn't sell my MKH. Listening back to some old stuff I did with it, it really worked well for mellow reads with my voice. WHY DID I DO IT?!?!? I know, SkinnyJohnny, I'm have a mic selling/buying disorder. _________________ Josh Mahler

Don't feel bad, Voodoo....if you search the archives, I posted regarding the 416 and was thisssss close to e-baying it.
But after months of working on and off with it, I finally found that "saweeett spot" that only the 416 can provide.
I'm glad now I didn't sell it, but I was real close to doing it.....
But my new Gefell M930 does have me considering selling the TLM 103... |

Josh, I think you sound better on the 103.
Your voice cuts through Josh...you don't need the 416. Stick with a natural sounding mic (which the 103 can be if you aren't too close to it). _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover

Open question:
What non-shotgun VO mics offer the same (or similar) punch and cut-thru as the 416, in a reasonably comparable price range? |

What's that, John? Actually, I don't care what it is as long as it's new gear. You've got yourself a deal!! _________________ Josh Mahler

I think what I'm beginning to realize it that I just need a HUGE mic locker. A different mic for each day of the month. Only then will I be satisfied...MAYBE! lol _________________ Josh Mahler

The MBR is the Mattel Bright Red mic. It's a well kept secret. You've seen them on Mattel's Kareoke boxes. I'm sure your new baby boy, Hunter, will want one soon! _________________ John Weeks Voice Overs

Oh damn, I'm in! Although he's only 2 weeks old, I'm going to have him do his first recording session soon. My dad recently sent me audio of me singing "Hot for Teacher" when I was 10 or so, back when my voice was still high. Funniest thing ever. Well, to me at least. I think it will be fun to have an audio "scrapbook" of him from newborn on.
Ok, is it bad forum etiquette to keep going OT in your own thread?!?! _________________ Josh Mahler
