I tried to do a search for "royalty free music" in the forum... too much stuff to wade through. Any suggestions about a more specific search?
I'm trying to find out if there is a good "all around" background music source. I've checked the Web... lots to choose from... perhaps too many choices. I don't mind buying a few "royalty free" CD's... I just don't want to spend 3k to have all the bases covered.

Hi Brian...
What about the rates for DittyBase? I visited their site (which is quite comprehensive by the way) but couldn't find anything about pricing short of going through all the licensing steps.
Dave
P.S. As for me I have a small production library I use called PBTM which is a buyout at about $20 a CD if you order 10 or more. _________________ . If at first you don't succeed, then bomb disposal probably isn't for you. |

I'm not all that familiar with the online database realm, but I think that they're probably a bit expensive... they charge based on the details of the project.
ie.
US National Televion 30 second background music runs about $120 CAD
US National Radio 30 second background music runs about $95 CAD
Canadian Television..... @ $105
Candian Radio .... @ $75
I'd actually be interested to hear some feedback on the rates, as I haven't really given it too much tought until now.

There is a lot of good stuff out there. I really like the stuff from Flying hands (www.flying hands.com).
Another good value is the Mussel Shoals collection - although it is getting a bit dated, it is still a decent collection for a bargain price (www.radio-mall.com/stxold.htm). This is a large website with much to offer, so a guy - or a gal - can have a lotta fun just pokin' around. |
