|
|
Hello Everyone,
I built my own booth in a bag recently somewhat similar to the one offered by a booth building company and it looks and works great. I really like building stuff and thought I could do a nice job with this project. However, I still need the bag the fold-up booth can go in. My question, has anyone seen this type of bag? :
I know I have seen them somewhere before. I tried Markertek and some other video online sites and no luck.
Or have any good ideas for a bag for my mobile booth? The largest dimensions of the booth when folded down would be 24" x 16" x 10". With these dimensions, it seems hard to find something that is the right size and not too big, but yet large enough.
I was also thinking a hard suitcase....however the longest dimension of 24 inches seems to be a weird one for suitcases and not being able to know for sure the inside dimensions etc.....I have not pulled the trigger on some of the stuff I have researched. I also want to check this bag when flying....so any thoughts or leads anyone has are welcome.
Thanks! _________________ Ben

See if these guys will make a bag for ya!

I own several of their iLugger and ProLugger cases and they are very well made and economical. In fact I have a 23" cinema display and one Mac/PC tower bag for sale, $100 each.
Or Pelican?

That one is really close to your dimensions.
On a side note, how effective is your portable booth? I've had many clients ask me about them I generally tell them they aren't worth the effort to carry. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

Thanks for the info Soundgun and Diane. I appreciate it.
I just built it actually. It is not for achieving a sound proof environment....as much as it is for having a decent non-reflective area to record in that I know will be consistent. I am sure you know that though. The last few hotels I have been in have been bad for recording. It is pretty close in design to the Stone Booth by GK except I did mine so it is not a rectangle/square box. And this booth only cost me a mere fraction of the cost to build myself.
Here is a picture of my mobile booth:
I still need to get a thick black or gray cloth to hang from the top and go behind me when recording. Then my little project is complete. _________________ Ben

Looks great!
Given the dimensions, FWIW this is the closest I could find to a fit.

This also gets close to those dimensions.

The heavy moving blankets from Harbor Freight are Black and only 10 bucks... well worth the cost... add a couple more for shipping. They work well in isolating/deadening some sounds. |

Looks good, Ben. How did you suspend the mic? Also what are the dimensions? _________________ Bobbin Beam

Thanks Bobbin.
There is no mic in the picture. I think the shadow makes it look like there is one. I have a small mic stand that will fit inside the enclosure.
The dimensions are about 18 to 20" deep and 48" wide at its widest point and 24" wide toward the back. The three panels other than the roof fold down to be 12"" x 24" and they come apart from each other. The top folds down into a dimension of 16" x 24".
I also got a small LCD battery powered light to add to the top so it is not so dark inside when a blanket is draped behind. _________________ Ben

what are the "compact" dimensions? or rather - how far does it break down? or another way --- how big would the bag have to be?
am i being redundant?
btw - looks very, very cool. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis
