FS: M-Audio Sputnik, Heil PR-40. I'll honor these prices until Thursday 11/13, then I'll put them on eBay if they haven't sold - with a Buy It Now price.

M-Audio Sputnik large diaphragm tube condenser mic – as new for $500 including insured FedEx to CONUS. This sells new at Sweetwater for $799, and this mic is 3 weeks old.

Here’s the real deal with this microphone. I owned one for about a year, it was my go-to mic. Made many thousands of dollars using it for VO in my studio. Then one day, it wasn’t working properly (don’t know what the problem was), so M-Audio exchanged it for a brand new one (they have terrific customer service). I’ve had this new mic for 3 weeks now and used it for a few gigs and some auditions – it’s good as new.

I’ve been thinking for quite awhile of upgrading to a Neumann, and recently had a chance to do a little shootout at a VO pal’s studio, and decided I liked his TLM-103 a bit better than the Sputnik for my voice. So I’m selling this as-new Sputnik to buy a Neumann. Check out this mic shootout thread on the Gearslutz forum: http://tinyurl.com/2u8935 It pitted the Sputnik against a Peluso, 2 Telefunkens, and an AKG 414 – many listeners liked the Sputnik best! More info here: http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Sputnik.html

Heil PR-40 dynamic mic + pop-filter for $275 including insured FedEx to CONUS. This goes for $325 at Full Compass + $95 for the SM-2 shock mount.

I’ve had the Heil PR-40 for almost one year. I’d read many great things about it, some said it was better than the standard VO dynamic mics (e.g., RE-20, SM-7b). I liked it, but no longer need it since I’m getting the Neumann and it seems pretty versatile. I’m including the hard-to-find double pop-filter made especially for the PR-40 (a $95+ value).

I am happy to send you mp3 or WAV files of both of these mics upon request.

No nibbles yet, though 60+ hits!

Later tonight, I'll put these on eBay with a lower opening bid and no reserve, plus a Buy It Now price. My eBay ID is fearlessraccoon.
