I think I remember this from a year or 2 ago. Since I got the notice from OfficeMax today, I thought I'd kick things off for this year.

Too early for elves, I think.
Let's wait until after Thanksgiving. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

We had a frickin' oldies radio station go "all Christmas music all the time" TEN DAYS AGO!! And this was the major oldies station...they had good ratings to begin with!
WWJD? He'd write a very stern letter at least. No, on second thought, he'd go down there and rip the records off the turntables (if they had such things these days) and yell something about "money grubbers"!
Oooh, I feel a script coming on:
(Angry Yeshua enters the Program Director's office at KOOL-FM, his robes flowing from an unseen wind, his eyes deep and firey - CGI ala the Elf Queen in Lord of the Rings)
YESHUA
"Defile my birthday no more! Enough with the silly songs about reindeers and even the heartfelt songs that few people sing with heart anymore. Just send a few cards, and make them yourself; don't spend $3.00 each on pre-printed ones with lots of glitter on them. I didn't tromp around all over the Middle East spewing glitter wherever I went! That was those gents in "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" and that was Australia for My sakes."
(MCU of Yeshua, push to extreme close-up POV the program director)
YESHUA
"And what's with spending a week's salary or even more on lavish gifts for everyone? You're supposed to give them nice gifts on THEIR birthday, not mine. ... Me? The original idea was to share a little bounty on my big day...some fruit, a little bread, maybe some nuts and honey, and maybe remember some of the nice things I did and said. And these days you've got cake with frosting on it!! We didn't have that back in my day, but you go ahead. A little cake would be nice."
(He turns to the station staff that has now gathered at the doorway)
YESHUA
"So maybe this year you skip the fancy gifts that people ooh and aah over for a day and then put away and mostly forget. Or the gifts that rot your brains for hours...you folks with the Wii's and XBoxes know what I'm talkin' about, huh?"
(Many in the crowd mumble their acknowledgement)
YESHUA
"So have a little fun celebrating My birthday, next month, and you, Mr. Program Director, put on a little something bouncy, like some ABBA, you know? "Dancing Queen" would be nice. I gotta go. My donkey's double parked out front. Peace. Out."
(He whips around, robes flowing, and leaves. The stunned crowd all regain their composure and grab their cell phones and start texting madly.)
(Scene)
