LOL!
My husband got me a vacuum cleaner for my birthday one year. I helped pick it out. I just wanted to be able to say, "this gift sucks!" |

Mary- I love you.
My husband only messed up once- when he suprised me with a cutting board for my birthday. He was replacing my REALLY nice wooden cutting board which was ruined when he put it in the dishwasher. The one he got me wasn't quite as nice.
Lesson to husbands- don't use a special occasion to buy your wife a gift that is meant to replace the one you broke.
He made up for it the same year by buying me a camera for our anniversary _________________ Threadjackers local 420

That is funny!
There is a way around it, though. You can get something practical, as long as it's not the only thing, or the biggest/best thing. And make sure you label it as "from Santa".
I hate to admit it, but one of my wife's favorite gifts last year was a Roomba (robot vacuum cleaner). The key thing is that I followed my rule above, and it worked out great. She raves about it every time she uses it. And trust me. I know the look, so I know she's not just being nice about it. (Besides, she wouldn't. I'd be part of the wall.) |

i had reservations for dinner - just wanted to see what she'd do. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

HAH- those are great stories!
A Roomba is a good gift- it does all the work for you! Practical gifts can be good...at the right time. The hubby came home the other day and said "I was going to stop and get you flowers...but decided to get this instead." It was a super dooper surge protector...WAY better than flowers!!! _________________ Threadjackers local 420
