We always enjoy sitting in front of the fire on Christmas morning with a drink, some music and a pile of packages. All gifts are gratefully received. One gift this year was particularly special.

Up until mid 2001 we lived in a place called The Chantry in a village called Montacute in Somerset. Our friend Louise has a new man in her life and as a gift he drew a picture of our former home.

Wow, that's no wee huttie.

It's beautiful. He's a very talented artist. I love sketches.

That's some domicile! Looks like the kind of place you might expect to find Tony Robinson digging in the garden.

House dates from around 1530. The house next door (to the left as you look at the sketch of my old house) was this one.

..and no I'm not joking.

Philip,

Truly a stunning sketch. Louise has found a very talented man.

Wonderful pics Phillip....but the neighbors. Overcompensating for something possibly?

Here in the states they tend to call it quits with a new Hummer.
