|
|
Dear Guys,
I foolishly lubed the joints of my squeaky mic arm and now it won't hold my RE20 up.
What a dope!
I've tried cinching up the bolts, but they're as tight as they can go.
Think I need new springs? Meh?

One of the old tricks is to cross the springs one side to the other...gives a little more tension. _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

I was just going to say "hold the mic with the other arm"; but that was too easy.
Another choice is to un-do everything, put a rough silicon washer where the bolts are adjusted and you should be back to semi-abnormal with tension and no squeaks.

Franks idea will work. Just find any kind of washer, lock washer is good they are usually pretty thick. Unscrew the knob all the way and take it off. Add the washer and put the knob back on. It should be fine now. Sorry if you didn't need the directions but I thought it might help. |

If you simply 'over-lubed' it, why not try cleaning the joint with alcohol...? |
