I need some info. I was given a 3Com US Robotics ISDN PRO External TA, new in the box, (though it smelled like basement!) still wrapped. I need some feedback because I am finding only a little bit of info on the net. Is it worth the effort to hook up? Also, I was given a pair of AR speakers, that are plug in, but there is no serial number or model number, they stand about 8-10 inches high are almost oval and black with a switch for right, left and mono on each on the back. One of the plug in's has a black boxshape along the middle of the plug in, the other does not. On the front is two lights one red and one blue. along with these gifts I was given a set of MA-10 speakers from Edirolfrom. Again any feedback?

Heather,

The ISDN modem is, sadly, almost useless to you because without some specialized software (Audio TX, for example) you could not use that unit to connect with a recording studio to do ISDN sessions.

AR (Acoustic Research) was (maybe still is) a speaker company of pretty high reputation among audiophiles; though I don't think I've ever seen a pair of their units in a recording studio.

The Edirol speakers could serve you fairly well as monitors for your voiceover studio. (For that matter the AR set would probably do pretty well, too.)

So for the ISDN unit I should just try to unload then? Good news to hear on the speakers. Thanks again.

Heather,

Short answer on the ISDN modem: yes.
