VO-BB - 20 YEARS OLD!

Hello everyone...
Just wanted to introduce myself to VO-BB........
My name is Rodney Scot Stoner (yes...Stoner)...It's not a verb...just my real last name... Laugh

I've been an actor & voiceover artist for many years in Los Angeles & Dallas Tx. For the past 9 years I have been the host and co-producer of the television series "Discovery Jones Expeditions" seen around the world daily.
I have uploaded video links on my page at voiceover universe.
Now that we are finishing the tv series after 150 episodes, I am jumping back into the voiceover world with both feet. This is kind of strange for me because I have been working in front of the camera for so long...that stepping back behind the mic FULL TIME (in some ways) feels like going back to square one. I have a new home studio in Charlotte NC and I am still active in film & television.
MANY THANKS TO: Kara Edwards, Brian Haymond & September Day Leach for their e mails and leads in the Mid-Atlantic area. I hope to meet many of you in the near future and I am so happy to be in the company of so many talented voice actors!!
P.S...My website is almost finished being built....not quite done yet.

It's funny how closely our relocating patterns resemble each other- hah! (I also went from Dallas to Charlotte)

KARA: It is strange...I feel like I know you already! I went to Sam Ashe in Charlotte to ask about buying an additional mic...The audio rep said: "yeah...I was helping a girl awhile back with mic's who does the voice thing". I said: "Kara Edwards ??"...His reply: YEAH..That was her!! Laugh

I was going to tell you that I used to bring in actors from Mary Collins in Dallas all the time when I was casting with Shirley Abrams. Seems like a lifetime ago!

Feel free to use "Dude" all you like! The last name has been a blessing and a headache! The best part is: it usually sticks in people's mind and causes laughter....a good thing in showbiz! A lot of on-camera people think that VO is much more difficult, but I sure don't have a clue what to do in front of the camera. I'm full of admiration for all of you -Rodney, Connie, Amy, Kara, Deirdre, David H., Dave C., MichaelB - there's a lot of 'em on the board (I know I'm forgetting some - sorry).

I get mail every so often addressed to Mr. Moe Egan and i begin every VO proposal with "I'm a full time female voice talent..".

I spell my name the male way (most females spell it "Mo") because the first time I saw my name in print was on the Three Stooges' credits, And if it's good enough for Moe Howard.... Smile

Hey there Rodney! I'm also in Charlotte, but my relocation pattern is a bit different. Pittsburgh - Tucson - Charlotte.
Welcome aboard. Great to see another here in the Queen City.

My website is also down at the moment, so I feel your pain.

Pop on down to Ri-Ra some Tuesday night where I am the emcee of the weekly pub quiz. Plus, they have beer. Good beer! (oh, and food too)
