Every so often when I'm out with Jazz for a late night walk I'll meet Paul and his old lady Collie called Floss.

Today for me has been an empty diary day.

"How are you Paul?"

"Not so good. I've lost my job". Today the money tap was turned off for me but there's little doubt it'll be turned back on tomorrow. For Paul his sole source of income has STOPPED until ................. Here's is a man with a wife, two young children and all the expenses associated therewith.

Positive thoughts, vibes and prayers for Paul and anyone you know like him. With a great deal of humility, tonight I am once again counting my blessings.

The effects of job loss and housing foreclosures (we have over 500 in this city) are very, very evident in Central Mass. The layoffs, cutbacks and closings are only starting to take their toll on everyone. At the grocery store yesterday I ran into 3 people who are now without jobs and their prospects are slim. One woman, who made computer chips for cars, was let go when the factory closed and she really touched me when she said, "I loved working with those people and I'm a better person for having known them."

I wake up every morning and am mindful of my blessings. I hope I can learn how to be a little more humble.

edited 4 times because my effect and affect were not cooperating until I got the cheat sheet from a little angel.

another (almost) 200 jobs lost here this week with the closing of a 27 acre circuit city distribution center. i'm not absolutely sure that this isn't the end of free market capitalism as we know it.

Oh, dear.
I'm so sorry that this is affecting our friends in Portgordon.

All our best to Paul!

Blessings to Paul, that something good for him and his family comes their way...and quickly....

and thanks to this reminder, I'm again grateful for the blessings in my life.

I will keep him in my thoughts as well Philip! My husband's company cut 20% of their staff last week and he survived! We went through a 5 month unemployment situation in 07 so it wasn't something that we were looking forward to going through again. We understand what Paul is dealing with and it's not pretty. I wish him well ....he's got a good friend in you!

workshoplive.com shuttered the production department in November, I'm fortunate that my wife is a church musician and she has a good gig to keep us afloat.

The papers don't really have job listings for what I do, so I improvise and network.

Lets hope that 2009 is a better year for everyone!
