But it's all relative... this doesn't take into consideration buying power, housing prices, taxation rates. With L.A. prices, we practically need food stamps!

Indeed, Philip.

All the people in the world, and the overwhelming majority aren't just poor, they're desperately poor.

This is a good reminder that I need to donate a bit more this year and give some more direct local help in other ways too.

The Caesars did not have laptops, cars, central heat and air, and access to boutique grocers. They didn't even have Caesar Salads. Nor did my great grandparents. I'm doin' alright.

At 107565th place here, too.

This past year we found many new ways to give back because we haven't forgotten what it was like to scrape and scrub to get by... and even when we were that "poor" we were still better off than so many others.
