I've never used Skype...does anyone know if it would be theoretically possible to record and talk over Skype or a similar service at the same time?

I have an international client who wants to listen in while recording, and I'm searching for the cheapest possible way to do it. I realized after my first 45 minute call at $1.50/min something has to change Frown

Go to the Search function, the button's at the top of this page, and in the first box on the search page type:

Skype AND recording

Then hit Enter on your keyboard. You'll soon see several threads that cover this topic. The AND tells the search function to look for threads that contain both words.

Yep! Same here. Skype will overheat my laptop, though—
so I use the "Lucky Dog" dial-around to reach the UK.

Just dial 10-10-345 and then Philip's number, I mean whoever you're calling.

Short answer: YES, you can. Long answer: You will only be able to record YOUR side of the conversation -- UNLESS -- you purchase a Skype recording programs like MXSkype, Pamela, etc.

Longer answer: Search the archives.

Even longer (but more fun answer): Call Phillip and/or Bob.

Toodles

I'm happy to take anyone's call; but if you want an answer to your Skype questions, call Frank. He's the genius I only wish I could be someday when I grow up.

There is a free Skype recorder called CallGraph. I haven't used it on an actual session, but a test run came out just fine. Worth a look.
