I've had several clients ask me how much I charge per word...I've usually only charged per hour. Suggestions?

search these forums with the following syntax:

rates AND word

Wherever possible, I would never advise anyone to quote per word....its a slippery slope!!!!

I agree with you, stick to hourly rates, even if it works out the same, going with a per word quote devalues what we do and encourages the worst sort of writing to save a $.
