Anyone want to share studio setup photos?
Here's my setup from the main mix position. VO booth (read: converted closet) is behind the camera. Computer CPU is off to the right, out of frame.
Two Behringer mixers: UB802 for input. UB502 for monitor mix only.
Behringer Truth B2031A monitors on custom built (by me) platform.

It's for video as well, My Sweet.
Unfortunately, the video monitor is the one thing you CAN'T see- it's got the beach-towel dampener over it in this pic.
I need to take an updated picture pretty soon. I've got a couple of new pieces of gear.
Besides--it's the only way I ever get my studio neat as a pin. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Aahh....okay. I see now. I did not know you were also into video. I took my vid-cap stuff out and got rid of it. Just didn't have the interest at the time. Maybe I'll get back into it one day and can continue to archive those home vid's to DVD. Any particular vid-cap device you recommend?
Here's a wider view of my spread, complete with boxes under and behind the desk, a guitar case, trash can, shredder, flashlight and other assorted odds-n-ends. Plus you can see the mic processor situated under the left corner of the desk on top of the little storage bin.

An Apple Mac computer.
There used to be a terrific FireWire Dazzle device, but they don't make it anymore for some insane reason.
The Hollywood Bridge.
Dazzle makes stuff for USB now-- and Firewire is the protocol you need for video. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Thanks for the info!
I used to have a USB capture device and had the Ulead VideoStudio for PC. Worked well enough...just lost interest after a while and sold it to a ham radio buddy of mine. Had a tv/capture card in the box at one time...still got it...but don't use it anymore. Took it out in favor of more fun stuff like the Echo Mia card
By the way, doesn't Apple build the most beeutiful computers? |

Well, it's not much but I call it "home"....
As you can see there is really "nothing" to look at, all computers are under the monitors, below the desk. Some outboard stuff including the HD Video deck; are to the right (under the desk), and the big monitor is for Video Editing and Sweetening. There is an Equipment Room off the the left, through sliding glass doors, which I could not get into the picture.
There is now a larger screen for the HD video (54" Plasma display), and the mic is usually in front of my seat (the right one - Captains Chair).
This pic was taken just prior to the HD Video installation setup.
Now you see my little Inner Sanctum. The Studio is in the lower level of the house, just off Main Street, Park City, Utah.

Pure class, Frank.
I'd be surprised by anything less from you.

The art is a photo of a section of the Berlin Wall. A piece of graffiti reads "The higher you build your barriers the taller I become".
In my VO booth or my "wee huttie" as my friends kids call it I thought hanging pastel green material over the battleship grey sound treatment material creates a very mellow atmosphere.
As far as possible all the technology is out of sight. |
