In order to avoid the JediWebDesign fiasco, I need a generic contract. Anyone have on laying around? The voices.com link form this thread is no good.

Here's a generic narration contract:

Narration Contract

This agreement is made between [talent name] and [client] for voice talent and production services rendered [date], specifically the narrations [“name of script”]. The agreed-upon price for this work is $n, payable within 30 days of the receipt of the audio files.

This voice work by [talent name] is for [client] use only, and only for the [client] website. It is not to be used for TV or radio commercials, IVR, voicemail, or any other media unless specifically agreed to beyond this agreement.

Permission to use material supplied is given subject to full payment being made. Rights to use prior to full payment are granted as a professional courtesy only and may be withdrawn at any time.

Oh come on D.B.; that contract cannot work... the contract/agreement is too simple and does not have three additional pages of legalese understood only by lawyers, judges and politicians.

I like the form, simple, short and complete... Thank you.

My kind of contract/agreement.

Toodles

Jeff,

Maybe this is too simple, but I just signed a piece of paper and scanned it, then saved the resulting image file in the format I needed.

Yep! That's what I did.

I also made all the interstices transparent, so if the sig is on a line, the line will show.

but I'm a geek.

Legalese sample...

GENERAL. EXCEPT WITH RESPECT TO [****] UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES
SHALL EITHER PARTY BE LIABLE TO THE OTHER PARTY FOR LOST PROFITS (WHETHER SUCH
LOST PROFITS ARE CHARACTERIZED AS CONSEQUENTIAL OR DIRECT) OR FOR INDIRECT,
INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATING
TO THE SUBJECT MATTER OF THIS AGREEMENT, EVEN IF THAT PARTY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF
THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES, SUCH AS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, LOSS OF REVENUE OR
ANTICIPATED PROFITS OR LOST BUSINESS. EXCEPT FOR EITHER PARTY'S BREACH OF
[****], OR WITH RESPECT TO BREACH OF EACH PARTY'S [****] OBLIGATIONS SET FORTH
IN [****], IN NO EVENT SHALL EITHER PARTY'S AGGREGATE, CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO
THE OTHER PARTY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS AGREEMENT EXCEED [****]. THIS
LIMITATION ON LIABILITY IS CUMULATIVE WITH ALL PAYMENTS BEING AGGREGATED TO
DETERMINE SATISFACTION OF THE LIMIT. THE EXISTENCE OF ONE OR MORE CLAIMS OR
SUITS WILL NOT ENLARGE THE LIMIT. EACH PARTY ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THE MUTUAL
PROMISES CONTAINED HEREIN REFLECT THE ALLOCATION OF RISK SET FORTH IN THIS
AGREEMENT AND THAT EACH PARTY WOULD NOT ENTER INTO THIS AGREEMENT WITHOUT THESE
LIMITATIONS ON LIABILITY
.

Shocked
