For the next time someone is replacing an old pop filter or upgrading their current screen, I have to give massive kudos to Brian Gunn over at Popless Voice Screens. I ordered a screen from that site last week to replace a worn out PopperStopper, and was surprised when a day later I got an e-mail from the owner of the company thanking me and providing some shipment information.
I don't have any connection with the company other than having purchased some products from them. I just thought I would spread the word about a positive experience. In a day and time when every equipment order seems to have canned computer auto-responses, it's refreshing to deal with a real person (and a good product, to boot). _________________ David Swinehart

The Popless products are excellent, I outfitted many VO2GO's with them. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

Kevin Genus turned a lot of us onto the Popless screen, and even made a bulk order to share with the denizens here. Musta been back in the NeoLithic Age. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

I got a real kick out of reading this because I know Brian and his wife Debbie personally.
He lives down the road from me in New Paltz and I've had him over at my place to talk with half a dozen pro-audio friends for a VO breakfast party. We all talked shop while I made pancakes and Brian demonstrated his wares.
He told us a funny story of how he wandered around fabric stores testing screen materials by holding them up to his face and 'popping' into them, while getting odd looks from sales people. (...yes there's a strange man wandering from fabric to fabric going Puff-Puff, Puff-Puff...)
He's a great guy and wonderful to talk to and was kind enough to loan me an SM7B and a PR40 for a mic shootout. You'll find that he is passionate about sound and glad to help out with your acoustic troubleshooting.
Now for my plug:
I highly recommend giving Popless a try, cause it's very refreshing in this day and age to find a business that's large enough to serve you and small enough to know you. For over twenty years, Popless screens are made domestically (right here in Upstate New York) and offer a unique level of fine tuning that you won't see in other brands. _________________ Carl Welden

Its all in the fabric, that what I think
Years ago I took a bit of Hanes Hosiery material (mother worked for Hanes) and put it over an embroidery hoop (the wooden type). Put it on both sides .. not like others who do only one side. Two mesh membranes to rein in the shock wave.
It worked real good... never saw the need to use any thing else. _________________ Esse quam videri "To be rather than to seem"
