so many of us have (or have had) troublesome or downright nasty clients...i felt the cosmic/karmic need to speak up when a gem is found.
just got this comment from a first-time client, for whom i'd done a quick narration:
"...it was perfect. I loved it and so did the customer. I’ve never had a voiceover that didn’t require changes! You are my first."
and if that doesn't register on your "wow" meter, said client was actually apologizing for not having payment to me in under 30 days!
so take heart...the good ones are still out there. _________________ rowell gormon

Way to go!!!!!
I just got an email moments ago from a client, that, for me as well, made me grateful. He had sent me the final take, and I emailed him back to thank him and tell him it sounded great (meaning production), and his reply: "Of course it does. That"s why I hired you! I guess my production skills help as well, but you"re the star hipster chick!"
Thank you for wonderful clients that make our days bright. It's nice to make people happy... in both directions. _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

I agree with both of you Rowell and Caryn, that great clients still exist. I'll also say that, in my opinion, there's some mighty great work being done by members of this board that doesn't get all the praise and recognition it deserves. I happen to know of an example that comes immediately to mind. (Not talking about me here, just to be clear.) _________________ Be well,

I second that... what Caryn's client said... but I haven't had the opportunity to let her know since last week. You know what, I'll do it in PUBLIC!
I guess my production skills help as well, but you're the star hipster chick!
I'll send you the finished audio in a moment... |

Edo, you're so kind!!! I'm smiling BIG today with all the love going on around here!! Thanks!
I personally love hearing about the good things happening to my friends on the vo-bb!! I hope they'll share!
Hooray for good clients... may there be many many more in all our futures. And, here's to hoping the bad clients have an attitude adjustment and become good ones too... cause when they're bad, they're usually rreeeaallll bad. _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

Caryn,
Audio is in your mailbox right now. I included all four language versions I had to produce for this specific 30... |

Today's grateful client in my world was appreciative, but not terribly verbose. What follows is the entire content of the email I received shortly after sending him the audio I recorded this afternoon:
"Thanks, beast!"
Hey, I'll take what I can get. _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)

It seems we too often dwell upon the hassles, when we should give homage to the many fine clients we serve every day. _________________ Bobbin Beam

Yep, LOVE when clients are appreciative.
I actually needed two references today & contacted 2 clients to ask them if I could use their names.
Their responses:
1) Are you kidding? Of course!!!!!!
2) Sure! I am a huge fan and a happy client... I'll sing your praises.
