Hello:

I recently cut a short read for a VO position.

Realistically, I don't think its what they want, but...nothing ventured....

I'd like some input on my delivery. I know it's not perfect, but I'm not sure what it needs. It's hard to critique yourself.

Give it a listen, and let me know....since I'm just getting back into this I'd like to get rid of the rough edges early on.

Here's the link:

Thanks for your feedback.

Couple of things:

1) Leave space where the other person would be talking. In it's current state, they all run together which makes it difficult to follow.
2) enunciate. You're dropping the ends of consonants.
3) The biggest problem is that it sounds like you're reading. I'm not hearing your acting ability coming through.

Thanks.....that's the kind of feedback I need!

I'm going to give it another after I get more feedback. When I do, give it another listen and let me know again.

John

Ditto what Jeffrey said. Plus, you're playing with your voice...too much of "HI, I'm the guy on the radio" sound. Real people don't talk like that. Acting study should help.
