I wonder what else has been developed in the time since that (as the article was from '07). It's interesting for those who might have a booth seperated from their recording rig - or those that might want to in order to escape computer noise. I could envision someone sitting in their recording booth with their phone providing the remote controls to start & stop the recording software, plus a little meter to keep an eye on the levels...
The Google remote a is out there to be tinkered with: http://code.google.com/p/telekinesis/. I wonder what will be next!
