Salt Lake City conducts an annual neighborhood clean up, curbside. Apropos?

The thing was so heavy I had to use a wheelbarrow to get it to the curb. Here's my pile:

Lio, sitting in his bouncy chair under the chestnut tree, thought it was amusing, the wheelbarrow and all. Mama's got nothin' no mo' as far as strength goes:

Paddyo's got a point. Rumor has it those things change over time. They've got built-in upgrades or something. Might be worth hanging onto him to see how next year's model turns out.

In my neighborhood, putting out a stack of window sash, a TV set, and a pile of rocks would be a very ba-a-a-a-a-a-a-d idea.

I've still got my analog TVs and I'm using them. They still work fine with the cable signal.

The public can be slow though. I read that the government hotline for this digital conversion business got 700,000 calls yesterday from frustrated (read eejit) viewers. This has been one of the most heavily promoted events in memory and how millions of TV owners could miss it, I'll never understand.

While most of us have been operating with digital brains for the past 50,000+ years, maybe they're still running on analog.

That's funny, Bob!
Along those lines...
We live in the Stone Age and don't have cable or satellite. I know, I know, I'm a bad dad. So we've got the rabbit ears and got the converter box way back during the time of No, We Really Really Mean It This Time, We're Going To Make The Switch (Part IX). But I wanted to see if there were less cumbersome antennas to use, so we went to the local Radio Shack yesterday to get one. After the guy greeted me and asked what he could help me with, I started in with, "I don't know what in the world happened...all of a sudden my tv won't work. What the heck is going on?" When he realized I was kidding, he really didn't think it was all that funny as he'd been dealing with people already that day who weren't kidding.

Good times.

I absolutely love the advertisments and news people who are still touting, "If you cannot see this progran it's time for a change to be able to receive over-the-air braodcasts".

Yes, the above comment has been made by our local TV Anchor's and touted on the respective stations.

If someone cannot see the braodcast, it's likely they are not listening to the advertisments about the "switch" or the TV guy/gal telling them about the changes. Love the lack of intelligence on the these folks parts.

Toodles

Oh, good point, Scott. Sorry. I did mean all except God up there on the left because I'm just not that into pointy heads.
