genius! ...especially loved "bummer."
now this has me wracking my brain for the name of the country artist who actually had a 45rpm i played on the air years ago. it may even have been a "B" side, but we played it. its title was "The Shortest Song In The World". its lyric(s) was/were: "this is the shortest...song...in thuh wurrrrrld." with steel guitar intro and closing chord i seem to remember it was about :30.
gotta find that thing. _________________ rowell gormon

Shortest Song in the World is by Kenny Price. I played it many, many times on the air. I also sat through a couple of hundred airings of Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald so I particularly enjoyed this guy's rendition!

Oh, and iTunes doesn't seem to have the Kenny Price song and a quick search of the Interwebs didn't turn up a copy either.
Hmmmm

Speaking of "bummer," does anybody remember a song from the late 60s called "It's a Bummer" by a group called Road? It is sort of the opposite of these shortest songs in the world, not necessarily because it is long, but in a way it is too long because it basically consists of nothing more than an intro (like the part we old radio DJs used to talk over) stretched out to be the whole song. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

Love it!
That's why I'm so glad They Might Be Giants Wrote several dozen songs to be played in five minutes...it's like a voice over demo!
