Try this, it's an extract from the CBT for the EH101 helicopter. The training programme lasted 40 hours with 35 hours of speech content.
"The main landing gear is tricycle in configuration and energy on landing is absorbed by three long stroke shock struts". |

Yes, because the main landing gear looks like a kiddie's bike - DUH!
It's not rocket science! Aviation, so fairly close to rocket science. |

New one:

BTW, I am archiving the "Your Take" samples for DB, and it would be MARVELLOUS if other VOs could save their files as CBTyourname.MP3, as I have to change them anyway when I archive them. Of course, as DB said, if anyone doesn't want their take archived, do say.
Cheers for another "Your Take" Banksey!

There are a few things that need attention in this piece of copy. It is part of a long course so you need to be sure that if you're in "voice over" mode you are able to maintain the standard throughout. The sentence is taken out of context so it should not sound like it was the first thing you've said, nor like it is going to be the last those taken the course hear. As you speak, the trainees are seeing so you could almost read the sentence as if there is a missing word.... "Look, the main landing gear is..". The lovely tongue twister is almost a red herring.
For those with a great deal of experience the above goes without saying. |

Well said Banksey!
Try making up some sentences and reading them prior to the "real" thing... helps limber up the tongue.

Let's see if I can put this link up...
http://www.putfile.com/audiogal
Katrina, since putfile isn't downloadable, don't worry about adding me to your files. I'll just play for fun.
Edit: Thanks for the heads up, DB...sorry Mac users, skip this one! _________________ Mary

Guys and gals-- be aware that, if you use PutFile, people on Macs CAN'T hear your submissions.
Including me.
Just wanted to be sure you know. _________________ DBCooperVO.com
