I was very young, but still remember him. Very sad day for all. Odd coincidence this occurs during the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission.

As we are right in the middle of the 40th anniversary of the first manned mission to the moon -- something he was intensely interested in -- and NASA has active plans for a new lunar mission within the next decade, let me be among the first to suggest that one of the first Orion spacecraft to be sent to the moon be named the Cronkite.
