|
|
After[Key Operative Word "After" , I get paid, which hasn't happened for two weeks so far] I get paid for recent work, I am doing a MUCH NEEDED upgrade of my sound card. The place I am going to shop at told me over the phone that they have one sound card that is for Either a desktop OR laptop. Sort of like a USB type device. Has anyone ever heard of such a sound card, and if so, any inputs as to quality or functionality- Good or Bad?
Thanks for your help,
Don |

Don,
I use one such device (the M-Audio Fast Track Pro) with both my desktop and my laptop. Actually I have 2 so that I don't have to disconnect and reconnect when I travel. _________________ Be well,

Don,
Quality is superb. I'm so happy with this unit I bought a second one to have with me when I travel. _________________ Be well,

My Lexicon U42S is a USB audio interface. Works great. Has DBX preamps in the mic lines. |

My mBox2 works excellent, looking to purchase the mBox mini in the near future. The only thing is...you must use the ProTools software.Protools is a great program, but it is more complex than most. _________________ -----

Some M-Audio USB interfaces also allow you to use the Pro-Tools M-Powered software...really just an M-Audio freindly version of ProTools LE.
Just another option to throw out there.
I use PT at home with MBox 2 (usb) and then an MXL USB interface with AA 3.0 when traveling on my laptop. In either case I use a Rode NTG-3 shotgun for mic duties. _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.
