It's very sad, but he lived a good long life. Bless his spirit! _________________ Intuit and do it!

Watching him break down just a little right after announcing John Kennedy's death still gets me, big time.

Walter... May you rest in peace, and never be forgotten.

I was working as an anchor/reporter at a CBS affiliate in West Lafayette, IN in 1981 when he retired. I distinctly remember being sent out to do a Man-on-the-street interview, asking people what they thought of his stepping-down.
'Guess you know what the answers were.
I'm not a big Dan Rather fan, but I thought CBS showed class by bringing him in on the hour-long special along with Brian Williams and Charles Gibson.
