Digital Juice is at it again offering their two BackTraxx music libraries with 1,000 cuts each for just $79.95. This has to be the best deal on royalty free music out there. I use their libraries more than any other these days.

Here's a link to the first one:

http://www.digitaljuice.com/products/products.asp?pid=828

I've loaded them into a separate iTunes library which makes it easy to narrow down to the type of music I need and then I drag the cut(s) I want into an audio editing session.

Bruce

Thanks for sharing. I produce a Jazz radio program that airs on a Public Radio station (wanting to syndicate it soon).

I need some new :60s to fill two inserts in the program, I like what I heard ad Digital Juice, for me the value was there for the jazz bits alone. Looking forward to having them in my libary.

Now if I could only figurer out how to electronic send you a Budweiser Budvar (the original)

greg...these appear to be what you have.

i've had them since spring. and while i haven't mastered the easier way to use them like bruce has, i have gotten the most good out of the ability to mute certain instruments in the mix and create something that matches the sound of the production i'm working on. too often a good piece of music is ruined for me by a trumpet or sax track which conflicts with my voicetrack.

can't beat the price. if you charge your clients for music, you could make the cost back in one or two jobs. (no, i don't work for the company.)

I have several StaxxTraxx sets and, since they have paid for themselves, I just ordered one of these volumes. Thanks for the heads-up.

There are TWO music products from DJ.

BackTraxx collections are just music of various genres and you get 30+ cuts on each of 30+ CD's (now they're coming on DVDs).

StackTraxx packages are basically four CDs with 10 cuts on each and using their software you can see the "stack" of all 7 to 10 instruments that play on each cut and eliminate any instruments you want and therefore customize the sound of each piece. This is particularly good for long form productions where you want to use the same theme many times but give it a different feel each time. I have their "Serious" version and it's been great for dramatic music for industrials. These collections run like $19 to $25 when they're on sale.

well now i'm confused, because the backtraxx 1 and 2 i have here are dvd-data discs with the track-elimination feature you described. i got them the last time both sets were offered at 79.00 each. maybe the company is merging the names of the products?

Rowell, you must have the Stacktrax layered music which are made up that way. I have BackTraxx 1 on DVD from that last sale they had and it is simple stero WAV files without individual layered elements.

you are right, greg.

i went back and looked, and it is i who got the products blended together.

the backtraxx sets (both 1 and 2) have proven very valuable in recent projects. the stacktraxx were on my mind because that's evidently what i used last.

sleep deprivation strikes again.
