Having worked in broadcast since around 1991 I have used MANY different models of headphones... Some I've liked so much I've bought multiple pairs. The MOST COMFORTABLE and BEST SOUNDING to my ears were a $30 set of Sony MDR CD-280. These have lasted exactly 10 years until this morning when I ripped the headphone cord out of the headset itself after getting caught in my chair heading into a break...
Noone seems to be selling these anymore... do you have a pair laying around in good working condition? Can you recommend something MORE Comfortable and BETTER sounding?
HELP! I CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING

The last time we had a major headphone choice discussion here I remember the Sony MDR-7506 being most listed along with a few of its close cousins. I bought a pair and I'm maybe one of the few who doesn't like them for their bassiness, but they're probably fine for radio.
