Old Noah was practically my neighbor (give or take about a mile & a half and a century & a half). His home is now a museum in town, our town library is the Noah Webster Library, and the newly developed half of the town center, called Blue Back Square, is named after the "Blue-Backed Speller," which was the popular name the spelling book he published in 1783, thirteen years before the dictionary.
