...taking the advice of many who say a big part of marketing is to get out in public and show what you know, i accepted an invitation to be part of a museum's one-day special effects event.
i did a repeating presentation on the use of recorded sound effects and foley work, which drew surprisingly big crowds...considering there were also make-up artists, computer software folks, and real star wars characters present.
if you're interested in the single biggest hit...literally...of my sound effects routine, check the clogged blog story, "a day at the museum". http://voices2go.wordpress.com/
but if you ever decide to do something like this yourself, heed my warning: doing live sound effects for five hours is actual, physical exercise! if i'd thought of that, i might not have agreed to show up! _________________ rowell gormon

Rowell, It looks to me like your were enjoying yourself. If it brings new clients all the better but starting out with liking what your doing is most important. I would like to have seen your presentation. I'm sure it was great. |
