|

All of a sudden, I can't dial out on my Zephyr.
I get as NETWORK DISCONNECT message no matter what I try to dial.
Other stations can dial me and connect just fine.

Beats all hell outta me.
I don't use it to dial anything but my remote stations.
That's long distance ISDN and it's not working. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

our engineer's advice was to call your long distance service provider.
Wish I could be more help than that. _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog

No-- it just gave me the idea to call 611 tonight rather than wait and call corporate tomorrow.
Everything is OK in the circuit according to TelCo.
I'm all plugged in here-- all connexions are AOK.
I'll have to check the network interface in the morning and if it's still out, risk a service call.
AFTER calling corporate to see if they've paid the bill. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

We got burned that way once. A line running out to a transmitter and somebody forgot to pay the bill.
Good luck! _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog

Some one or some thing generated a work order that disconnected my long distance in the C.O.
TelCo was here all afternoon.
I had to call corporate again and tell them something weird was happening. And dang! My remotes can't even dial in to ME any more. I've had my stations dialling me-- and it has worked until this afternoon.
Sucks. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

Usually they verify any disco with a verbal, did that not occur? Also, out of curiousity, who is the provider? _________________ Genus |

No-- I don't hear it dial out.
The TelCo guy told me my Long Distance Provider was SBC.
I've never heard of 'em. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

SBC....
Used to be Southwestern Bell, then they changed their name to just SBC. It's not an acronym for anything. They were one of the baby bells based mostly in the midwest, including Texas...but with all the buyouts and mergers, the whole thing's been muddied.
SBC is now merged with AT&T. They're a major player in communications infrastructure
Tommy Lee Jones used to voice SBC's ads.

Legally, there must be a "third-party verification" in order to switch any Regional or LD carrier (called LPIC and PIC within the industry). But there are ways around it.
Once you switch back to your preferred/correct carrier(s), call your LOCAL phone provider and request a "freeze" on your LOCAL (LEC), Regional (LPIC, pronounced el-pic), and Long Distance (PIC) carriers. It takes a minute, but any order that's issued will be rejected. Also, ask them to put a "password" on your account so that they have to ask for it before discussing your account or issuing any order requests.
See all those years of working at Darth Vader's phone company wasn't for nothin'

Thanks for the reminder Anthony-- but this time I didn't get "slammed".
Westwood One pays for the line and services. Someone there must have stupidly made the change. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |
