First piece of pro audio gear bought on eBay...Symmetric 528e processor. In 2007. Still works too.

The RE-20 has been my goto mic, because I loved it's look and sound. I don't have a treated room, but have sounded quite good with simple gating.

I was a Sound Forge man forever...until I found Reaper. For me, it replaces BOTH Sunnd Forge and the older Sony Vegas.

I have a Symterix 528e (also from ebay) and an M-Audio 1616m. I use it for the preamp, and the Symetrix for noise cancellation. The 1616m has a great software mixer--I don't miss the hardware mixers.

Why spend the money?
Hire a giant television to sit in your place, so the fine folks can watch you color, in color, over the internet.
