I thought I'd pop in here to let you guys know about some jobs I landed this week that might point to where our future is headed. Yes, it's cool I got the jobs & they were much appreciated after a long drought. But it's the non-traditional approach that also got my attention. Both came through agents. Both are national, one broadcast the other cable. Both are non-union, complete buyout and the money is good.
One is for a relaxation product for women, the first product Johnson & Johnson has rolled out since 1964, and I'm the branding voice (it came from an audition I did on 12/23, and I had NO idea it was for this--so do auditions). It's cool, but I have no idea what it means in way of money because they're going the infomercial route. The other is out of LA and is for a skin care line.

Most of us have home studios far from the media centers of LA & NY. As a (mostly) non-union performer with a studio in rural Oregon I found my experience this week encouraging, and perhaps an indication of where the VO business is heading. What about you all, where are your jobs coming from these days?

Just so you know, for me this was a week I've been dreaming about for years (picture me jumping up & down screaming "YES!!"). Good stuff happens, hang in there.

Yes indeed! We actually have a thread going in the ENTRE NOUS section about this— Look for "What did you do today?"

I thought we were supposed to write stuff, I didn't realise we were supposed to read it! So next time I converse with someone you'll expect me to listen? What if they're NOT talking about me? See.....No point is there?

Meanwhile back to Christine's post. Yes I am really great and the voice of a bunch of stuff and good looking too!

Few people are astute enough to notice such details.
