In the UK, many stations - and all the big station groups - will reject MP3s, on the grounds that the MP3 algorithm and the coding used in our DAB digital radio system don't play nicely together. Some groups also still use ISDN to traffic ad spots from one station to another, and the results of sending an MP3 down an MP2 ISDN are not exactly pleasing to the ear! _________________ Charles Nove

Radio stations these days mostly get everything on mp3 files -- vrying bit rates but 192 and higher fills the bill.
When I deal directly with radio I usually send AIFF files unless asked to send something else.
I think it shows concern about quality on my part.
With all the processing it goes through, the sound difference is marginal. _________________ http://MichaelSchoen.com |
