He may need to see a speech therapist before he gets training on your end. They have ways to make you (him) talk!

Can he sing at all?
One of the warm-ups I had my students do was to sing "Old MacDonald" or "Bingo".
Also, just saying oooooooooo AAAAAAHHHHHH on a vocal portamento from low to high and back down can get someone's voice in action. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

is a good resource.
Bruce is right, a licensed speech pathologist is the way to go.
