I just did my first radio job. I also have a few training video credits. How should I list these on my resume? Here's what it looks like now. Should I just add "Voiceover - Radio" and list it there, or better to state "Conflicts available upon request?" Do you guys have any templates or do you mind sharing your resumes? Help appreciated, thanks!
Here's my current resume:

I'm one of those that's slapped a bunch of company logos on a page buried on my web site. It really means nothing I'm afraid. Unless you've got some really big clients or campaigns that will add some weight, most of it's just feeding the ego. The only legitimate objective (maybe) is to show that you are working and have a reasonable list of clients... naming two or three gigs that you've had show, well, that you've had two or three gigs! Don't be too granular.
I'm guessing that your resume is for everything (stage, screen, voice). I wouldn't consider using a resume to get VO work... with the possible exception of long-form book narration where the work is for sale with my name on it. Unless you're a celebrity, almost all VO work is pretty anonymous and performed as a simple paid service... like a plumber.
That being said, if I ever get the Geico Gecko gig, I'm slapping it on the front page _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

I've never had any serious client ask for a resume. The only people I've encountered who have are schmucks from Craigslist who don't know what they're doing. _________________ Jeff

I think a resume is really only good if you are looking for employment. I've never had a client need to know where I worked last or need references. My demo or audition tells them almost everything they need to know about me. The rest is on my website. |

Hey, no smashing the Gecko!
The only resume you should need is a listing of your more recognizable VO hires on your website once you get some that you can list. No list (resume) is better than a lame list (resume).
I actually got asked for a cover letter and resume for the first time in.... well....decades this month by the local PBS/NPR station group as they're looking for future narrators and promo voices. The search is obviously being run by someone on a different rung of the corporate ladder than is usual in most businesses we deal with.

...this topic came up in our faffcon standup group last week, and made me remember i even had a voiceover resume.
someone asked me for one back in 2010, so peter o'connell shared a format with me that is similar to my old on-camera layout.
i put together the page and submitted it as requested.
no one else has ever asked me for one. _________________ rowell gormon

My local agent asked for one just last week. The template they want me to use is skewed towards face actors with mostly film/tv/stage credits. I plan to keep the logo from the template, but fill in the rest of the white space with what someone in another group (there's another group?) calls a "resumography". _________________ Dangerous.

The real answer is INTERESTING. Am serious. Most VOs get an F in this skill.
Resume - Short and sexy (see Elisa Canas who is now going to kill me)
Testimonials - Nobody cares what a nobody thinks. |

I've recently assembled a CV for my audiobook work. A few potential clients have requested one or have something like "submit a CV/resume with samples" kind of thing. So I put something simple together.
It's very short- one page, mostly a table of the books I've done, with a bit about my studio. I have a second page that is a "narrator profile", essentially a "about Corey" thing that some publishers have indicated they like to have when matching talent to projects.
I wouldn't bother with one for other types of VO work, and I'm not even sure how helpful it is for the audiobook side, but it does seem to be well-received. For commercial work I don't think a resume is helpful or desired by anyone who knows what they're doing. _________________ Corey "Vox Man" Snow

I've done pretty much the same except the logos are the background wallpaper and I have listed most of the clients I've done work for over the years. I agree it is not especially meaningful. However, every once in a while somebody may type "who is the voice on Duracell commercial?" or something similar into Google, and despite the fact that I'm not the person they have in mind, because I have done work for Duracell in the past, there's a slim chance they will be directed to my website. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.
