I'm sitting here moping b/c I've lost my voice. I have a glorious head cold, it hurts to swallow, and I felt it coming on Monday. I can't voice, my 16 yo thinks it is funny when I speak, and I'm kicking myself for catching my first cold since 2019. UGH. Poopy pants, I say.

Preach!

A week and a half after our office went maskless because we were all vaccinated, I caught my first cold since the pandemic started and it was BRUTAL. I'm still wearing masks anywhere I go that isn't the office I work in during the day and we might be going back to mandatory masks anyway due to variant concerns.

And I'm sorry you lost your voice. ):

Apparently colds and flu were WAY down during the lockdown. Maybe masks will be a regular thing for some over the coming years..

During the lockdown last year I got a germ by being careless at the post office.
I got so sick my friends insisted I get a covid test.

That's what happens when you don't eat enough dirt, like regular.
Colds and the like have been wicked.

One piece of potentially good news out of all this is that the development of this MRNA vaccine for COVID will lead to faster development of vaccines for other diseases. There’s even talk that this will lead to a vaccine for the common cold. Oh please may it be so.

Yes to the dirt and garden hose! Two weeks post first symptom and 11 days since the voice went and I was able to get in a few scripts today but they busted my butt and I'm exhausted. Being quiet for so long was hard but I'm grateful I had the space and time to rest and also have really kind clients.
