I need the "Americanized" pronunciation for "St. Gobain Desjonqueres". It is a manufacturing company here in the US.
Thanks a million!!! _________________ Disclaimer: I give sound advice - 99% sound, 1% advice. |

I would call them and ask them how they want it said.
Or call the company & if you get their voicemail they'll have it on there.

well ... liz, i'd hope you'd chime in because i spent waaay too much time looking for a contact number in the u.s.
they're actually all over the world, including egypt.
here in 'merica they're primarily manufacturing facilities.
one # i did find was a joint in georgia, which was closed.
natch, the outgoing message says S G D 'stead of that long french (freedom) name _________________ sitting at #8, though not as present as I'd like to be. Hello!

Hey There,
I purchase beer bottles from this company and all the rep uses is
Saint G0-Bay-N.
My wife is French so here is what I'm told: Day-jjawn-quwhere. The j is a jg as in Jean Claude Van Damn, and Jacques Cousteau....
They make beer bottles and a host of other closure type containers. If you cant find out I can call the rep to find out tomorrow.

Well if this is the french pronunciation "Day-jjawn-quwhere" then the american version would have to be "de Junk Wear" right? Ok of course I'm kidding. but it's kind of like making Jaque Penne out of JC Penney, |

There is no "american" pronunciation...as I tried and my wife just laughed at me.....Something about I did not roll the "R" correctly at the end...Thats why I do not speak french!
