Hello gang:
I slept in late for the first time in ages...
My retail work is closed today...
The kids are safe and sound...
There is the wonderful smell of roasting turkey in the oven...
And holiday music engulfs the house...
Truly, warts and all, I have much to be greatful for...
From my family to all of my friends in the voice acting community:
A happy and healthy Thanksgiving and peace in the new year.
Sincerely,
Youssef Mishriki

Youssef,
Many blessings to you and your family big guy! Good to see you getting some rest....'cause gosh knows the retail industry starts going crazy in about 12 hours from my writing this.

Made 2 pies last night— one apple-cranberry thing I kinda made up as I went and a pumpkin pie that had Worcestershire sauce as one of the spices. I remember that oddity from an old recipe which I couldn't find, but I added just a bit. Guitar Boy approved, so it's a hit as far as I'm concerned.
Small turkey/breast-only roll. time and space saver and way good.
Mashed Yukon gold potatoes with butter and milk and an egg, salt and pepper and a little curry.
A spinach concoction that usually has bread crumbs in it, but I exchanged those for cooked squash. Loads o cooked spinach, squash, canned diced tomatoes, and a cup of crumbled feta cheese.
Stuffed eggs that everyone loved.
Just the 4 of us this year— no visitors. Bo's band has to play at Mojitos tonight, so we're all going— even Younger Bear who is allowed since A) we, his parents, will be there and He has a legal lD that says he's 18.
A fine way to wrap up the night, I say! _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

Always looking for things to be thankful for I came across this thought:
Wednesday 70% of CNN's content was story after story of how the airports were crowded and the weather was basically OK. Boring as hell, especially since no one I knew was traveling by air.
Thursday the majority of CNN's content seemed to be greetings from the troops. Thankfully I don't know anyone over there at the moment so it was boring.
I was up at 5 this morning and the local and CNN news were all about the crowded malls. Almost no other news. REALLY boring.
I am really thankful that all the news is really boring right now and there are no Earth shaking crises.

Hi Youssef! Happy Thanksgiving!
I saw a helicopter in the air as we tested our fate at the local mall. I was worried until I realized they were there for the crowds. No news IS good news!
I made my first whole turkey yesterday (I also made a back-up brisket in case things went south). It turned out great! As did the stuffing, caseroles, cakes, pies, veggies, potatoes, relish, etc. Phew- a TON of food! I'm completely exhausted and don't plan to cook for a while!
My husband's parents and siblings are with us until tomorrow- what a joy to be around family for the holidays! _________________ Threadjackers local 420
