I suppose this is the same as changing the spelling, but perhaps you could just mash your first and middle names together and be Perryanne. I once worked with a woman named Terianne and her twin sister's name was Gerianne. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

Hmmm. Not a bad thought...
Or maybe I'll just go by PerryAnne and drop the last name, like Madonna _________________ Perry Anne Norton VO

Mine isn't really a pseudonym since Rhys is actually my middle name - courtesy of my Welsh dad.
My actual family name is Potter of all things. I suppose it could be a major branding opportunity with its connection to the boy wizard, but I'm a Brit and we don't generally ride the brandwagon.

When I was in the "film" business in the San Fernando Valley I used my
stage name - Scotty Birchwood. _________________ www.asapaudio.com |

When I was in NYC I wouldn't have had a clue to that which you allude. The Valley, that is. _________________ Perry Anne Norton VO

Liz!!
Thanks for saying hello. I love the VOBB but I have trouble finding people sometimes
Hope life and work are everything you want them to be, and that business is good.
What's new in your world? Coming to LA any time soon? Keep me posted, will you?
Hugs,

Szymanski is a throw back to my radio days. My real name is Smith.

Without really giving it much thought, I always used my first and middle names as my "air name" on college radio. Kept it that way all through my radio career, including 19 years at the same station in Miami where, unbelievably, I had the same the whole time (except for a stretch in the middle when he spent about a year in another market to save a station there).
Turned out to be a blessing in disguise, since there seemed to be a fairly strong bias against using DJs as voiceover talent in Miami back in the mid-80s, when I was starting my VO career. Made it easy to keep my "radio identity" separate from my "VO identity." _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)

Joe! You stole my line!
When I first spell MY name to a new person...and they invariably ask "How do you pronounce THAT?"...I usually say "Smith" _________________ Liz de Nesnera O.A.V. ~ Livin' The VO Dream!

Many times at restaurants when they take my name for a wait list I tell them "Smith", and as they start to write I tell them, "That's P-S-M-Y-T-H-E." I'm not sure why, but more often than not I get dirty look.
