Quick question. . .

Would 200 dollars be too much to ask for a 30 second fully produced radio spot? I'm trying to complete our rate sheet and I don't want to overcharge, but I don't want to lowball myself either. Here's what I was thinking.

:30 dry (basically they do their own production) - $75
:60 dry - $165

:30 produced - $200
:60 produced - $375

I'm still going to have to figure out other rates too, like TV, Narrations, Audio books. . .OY I've a lot to figure out!

Do a search on this topic. Rate questions come up pretty regularly.

The first thing I ask (when asked for a quote) is what market, media, or depth of distribution? The second question is, what's your budget? From there, it's alchemy ... sorting out the politics, how much talent and expenses will run, etc.

I know I've seen some comprehensive discussion on this, on this board. Run a search.

Whoa, son. You're way off the beam. Yes, do some research. Archives.

And why are you publishing a rate card? Most VOs don't for many good reasons.

I'll echo Bruce on this, and add an exclamation point! Take a look at AFTRA rates, then maybe even Voice123 and Voices.com's average non-union rate sheets and start from there.
