Maybe you can help with this oddity - my brother is using PTools 7.3 and just bought the SoundSoap 2 plugin to help mitigate his CPU noise. He's installed it, been on the phone w/ Bias to confirm all the files are in the right place, but the plugin doesn't show up in either the RTAS pull-down, or as an insert option on the track itself.

Odd thing is, his plugin shows up in the program folder as an RTAS plug-in; MY SoundSoap works fine but shows up as .vst plugin, which I don't think is supposed to work w/ PT (but it does - and shows up in either mono or stereo, as required). I have PT 8 but it worked fine in 7.3 as well.

Maybe it's because he has a "dual boot" system, with one computer dedicated to PT, and the other for the rest of his system and that the two aren't communicating?? Told him to check the DigiDesign DUC. I'm stumped.

Here is the real fix: Get the noisy computer out of the room.

Was the computer rebooted after the install?

Is it in the correct plugin folder? Verify that.

Reinstall it.

Thanks Mike -

Same info I gave him and we've confirmed he's got the plugin in the right folder. For me the fix was a NEW computer but don't know if he can afford that right now. Moving it is the next best solution. Thanks!
