I'm at a loss for words on Gary's passing. Here's a selection from his 1971 album, "Put Your Head On My Finger," the Golden Voice Announcer School. He's gone to work in that big "studio shaped like a large bird."

I'll never forget him as the narrator in the Space Quest video games, as Powdered Toast Man and many, many others. When I was a kid I wanted to sound like he did.

As a tribute, here's Gary Owens on KMPC back in the 70's reading one of those generic Happy Holidays commercials for on-air advertisers...the ones where you fill in the blanks with the advertiser's name. He clearly did not pre-read his copy this time.

G.O. Gone Wild

What a fun.

Ha! I'm sure they were excited about that.....but ya gotta think that a company has a sense of humor Smile Could be better advertising because it'd get everyone talking LOL

I blame Laugh-In for corrupting me at a very young age, and Gary Owens for infecting me with the radio bug.

Thanks Gary. cool
