Hey everybody,

I'm curious to know what your recording software, operating platform and audio interface are... I know that there are a lot of options, but I appreciate your time.

I would include ProTools HD and other versions of non-M-Powered ProTools in the mbox category for simplicity.

Thanks everyone!

FYI, there's a poll like this in the archives somewhere.

In that case, my vote is with Mac and Mbox... as I use a HD rig... I have an Mbox1 too by the way...

Probably Sound Forge, Sony Vegas, Cool Edit/Adobe Audition.

ProTools is great....just overkill for VO in my opinion.

Although I use Pro Tools HD on my Dual PowerMac G5a lot, I think that Sony SoundForge 8 also is a great program. One of the very best audio editors I came across. I've been using it from the very first version (still with Sonic Foundry at the time), it's been with me ever since. It is very versatile for the Direct-X engine within the program seemlessly accepts all DX plugins to perfection. So, this blink of my eye to the PC world out there... it's not available for Mac as far as I know.

Love Sound Forge. Real easy to use.
Just curious, also...just suppose I was looking for a Mac to use for VOing.
What version is everyone running?

Sorry on three counts. The first is I should have used "are" instead of "is", the second mea culpa is for ending a sentence with a preposition, and thirdly the question wasn't what other PC audio programs are available but what other PC audio programs folks on the VO-BB are actually using.

Chris,

I use ProTools M-powered on my WinXP machine when I need to use Source-Connect or when I'm working on more complex productions. I use Sound Forge for most straight mono or stereo editing and I still run a Microsound Digital Audio Workstation when I need to dig into my archives and revisit something originally done on that system, which also runs WinXP.

At the office we have ProTools HD systems running under both WinXP and Mac OSX.

Goldwave. A long list of built in tools that work very well make it a best buy. The ability to use DirectX plug-ins makes it even better. All updates to newer versions are free for life.

It is very easy to use, very intuitive. I've had some limited exposure to a few other editors and really wasn't that impressed, though I would like to try out Sony Soundforge although I have no real need to.

How is Source-Connect working out for you? Are you seeing more clients using it?

Chris,

I've had Source-Connect for a bit over a month, I think. I've done one paying session with it thus far; but I haven't been attempting to market it's use to this point.
