OK, so I've been thinking about this domain name for a while and I finally bought it today. I haven't done anything with it yet but I like it because I think its easier to remember than voiceoverthespian.com, my current site, and it might be fun to play off the GI-Joe similarity as far as branding and such.
I wanted to know what you good people thought. Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. _________________ Joe Rodriguez, Bilingual Voice Actor | The Voiceover Thespian Blog |

Definitely more catchy and easy to recall than your other one. Good job! Now comes the marketing and branding... _________________ Donovan

I like it! And I can see lots of marketing/branding opportunities playing off the GI-Joe "action figure" ready for any circumstance. Good choice! _________________ . If at first you don't succeed, then bomb disposal probably isn't for you. |

I like it Joe. The great thing (at least right now) is that the VO market seems to be all about the "Guy Next Door" read. So if you market yourself accordingly, you could really get some good play out of the domain name. It is catchy and easy to remember. Definitely a step up for you. |

I'd suggest losing the dash. Unless you plan on handing out a business card everytime you mention it, you'll need to say "VO dash joe dot com" and it really loses it if you have to say it that way.

Agreed, your biggest enemy will be a dash sooner than you think. People have limited memories these days with so much info coming at them from all over. The easier, the better. If that is all that is available....then you are competing with the person who has VOJoe.com....that is who will get your business perhaps or least your clicks. _________________ Ben

Yeah, Jeff has a point...I've built quite a few sites with hyphens in the domain name and they're not great. Even if you tell people "It's v-o hyphen j-o-e.com" they'll forget.
Trying to market against a better (non-hyphenated) domain name is tough. _________________ Lou Zucaro

VO-Joe.com would be fine. It looks good.
I have to contend with db-cooper.com all the damned time and people find me.
And the confounded vo-bb has managed to get members and visitors in spite of its hyphen. How often will someone be literally typing in a URL?
Most of the time we reach people via links.
. . .and telling someone "V-O-dash-Joe" is not that hard. Yes, people are idiots, but it will be quite clear they've got the wrong place if they do go to www.voJoe.com. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

I agree..... I think it's clever, and I don't think the hyphen is that big of a deal either.
I hardly ever TELL someone verbally my site address. It's most always in an email as a link or on my biz card, etc.
