Welcome back, Brian!
My wife used to have a Jack Russell Terrier that wouldn't settle for substitutes like that. _________________ Greg Littlefield

ewww is right but it would be memorable.
Greg, we call them scoobie snacks around my family. Thankfully my sweet puppy doesn't go for that but her brother loves to help keep the litter box clean.

The ingredients are almost as unappealing as the concept. Can't stand cake mixes! |

Mary,
I'd love some pointers. My wife makes a killer buttercream frosting from scratch (the almond extract made the real difference) but we've yet to find a cake recipe we really like. Usually they're too heavy feeling but my wife thinks that I might be mixing them too much. _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog

Brian, I was raised on the Betty Crocker cookbook - the first edition (1950) or the 1956 edition have great cake recipes. They are not heavy, nor are they so light that you feel you aren't getting your money's worth. The Black Midnight Cake from those cookbooks is my favorite chocolate cake of all time.
Yellow cakes are kind of tricky but I still prefer one of the Betty Crocker yellow cake recipes to the ones in Rose Levy Berenbaum's Cake Bible.
If you tell me what flavor you're looking for I would be glad to send you a recipe to try
