Here are some less expensive sticky choices that will get the job done.

I was tempted by the cheaper alternatives until I saw that it costs $10 to truck a $7.99 can to me. So I called my guy at Sweetwater and learned that shipping is free on the tried-(by others)-and-true Auralex FoamTak so I broke down and ordered a can so I can put this simple project to rest. Also had the charming experience of having him ask how my son liked the electric bass he got for Christmas Smile

Yes he does like it Sticking out Tongue

Just to keep this thread from dying a premature death - 4 gift cards came into our house this evening, each with a glue snottum attaching it to cardboard. I carefully saved the snotti and went to see if I could attach a foam square to a wall with them. I couldn't. The stuff has no interest in foam. It will happily reattach to the cardboard and the plastic card, but the lovelight dies when foam enters the picture.

Thanks for that last post Mary. You just saved me a few bucks!

I tend to like the idea of mounting the foam on some kind of frame, like the lattice example, so I can move it as things evolve, but the hollow core door gobos are tempting too.

Please continue to post what you come up with.

This stuff is specifically designed for foam:

I second the staple technique, when you don't want the install to be permanent.

George,
Thanks for the recommendation on the other 3M product, which is about 1/2 the price. About that "staple" technique. Doesn't that tear the foam if you need to remove it and place somewhere else? Or is that for a more permanent application?

It does tear a tiny slot into the foam, if you don't use a pair of needle nose pliers to remove the staples as you take it down, which isn't bad as it sounds. Just use the minimum staples needed to hold it up securely, don't over staple.
