|
|
Well...hello there all of my VO friends, family, acquaintances near and dear...and those I have yet to meet...-
Yes...we entirely missed our summertime rendezvous (which was scheduled for a nude beach ... because we don't need anything but our voices! - I know some of you are wickedly disappointed, but there is always next year-)
BUT- as we approach the change of season, as the leaves will begin to welcome their burnished tinge and the warm aromas of cinnamon and cider begin to waft oh so gently under our noses...
It is time to arrange our AUTUMN RENDEZVOUS!!!!!!
We are looking for the following input:
DATE
PLACE
That's it!
Then - just show up and have a ball hangin' with your peeps, exchanging advice and war stories, and, by the end of the afternoon, - generally disrupting, with enthusiasm and vocal glee, the atmosphere of whichever establishment we have chosen to invade.
(The Springtime Rendezvous folks almost had to be escorted to the street...or, so I'm told. I had excused myself early, when dignity was still within my reach.)
I don't know whether this thread should be in ENTRE NOUS or here in CHAT ( we wouldn't want our revelry to be interrupted by the local Welders BB...or would we?)
LASTLY-
I've received a number of nice emails recently inquiring as to my well-being (and continued existence!) - Thanks for all the concern. It is simply that I have been swamped with a number of non-VO related projects...AND - when it does come to the VO career, I have been very fortunate to have been kept busy with a number of consistent, off-site, audiobook contracts - (long hours, much stamina required....but very reliable and consistent income...which is so damn welcome, right..?)-
So-
Though I have lurked from time to time...I just haven't been around in my studio much to contribute regularly to the board...which I do miss -
Here's hoping we can determine a date that works for many of us in the Tri-State area and beyond...
All the very best wishes for a healthy and prosperous season until then-
Fondly-
Peter Ganim
PS - Yes...we could schedule the autumn rendezvous at the nude beach...I just don't want to spill hot apple cider on my ...microphone! _________________ PETER GANIM

Peter, my dear!
I am so happy to hear from you again, and of all your good news herein described, you busy, talented man. I, of course, would love to join in the festivities. You, being a city dweller, should be able to suggest suitable locales.
Most weekends this fall should be fine for me, especially early October.
Thanks for organizing! _________________ Diane

I did have one thought for a place -- Bryant Park. I love the restaurant with the rooftop bar that overlooks it. It should still be nice enough to sit outdoors during the day, hopefully. _________________ Diane

Bryant Park would be a great place, Diane...and the way this thread is going...it may just be the two of us anyway!!!
Great idea-

I might join in, depending upon the date you decide on. |

Depending on the date I will try. Oct is hard for me I act at a haunted attraction and have a family thing on the 11 and 12th but let me know. I have to be back up in Poughkeepsie by 6;30 or so, so I need to catch about a 4;50 or so train but would love to join in if dates work out _________________ Ron Levine

Don't think this will be a great draw, but count me in. It'd be fun to meet some of you fine folk face-to-face! _________________ --Michael

Whattadya mean not a draw, Michael!
Sept. 27th I actually have mom-coverage, so that would work for me!
NOT Good:
Oct 11/12 or Oct 18/19
Possibility: Oct. 25th
(but don't let my crazy coverage schedule be a deciding factor!)

October, hmm... Yoda and I can't do the 4/5 - Liz can't do the 11/12 or 18/19 and the last weekend not good for Yoda either.
Liz has mom coverage for the 27th (Sat.) Would that work for everyone? |

Not good for me. I like Oct. 25th. But if it's good for everyone else, I'll see if I can juggle my schedule a bit. _________________ Diane
