I'm asking for a favor from my VO-BB peeps (lurkers and posters alike!)

My son's band teacher/ jazz band director has been nominated for a local contest here in Manchester. The winning music teacher gets to conduct one song with the Boston Pops when they're in town, plus the winning school will get scholarships to a local music school and $$ for new instruments.

WOULD YOU PLEASE LOG ON to the following address and
VOTE for MR. REDMOND from HILLSIDE? He's an awesome young music teacher, he teaches 6th grade band and the two middle school jazz bands. I know my kids have benefited greatly from his teaching.

VOTE HERE

I know there are a lot of music lovers on this board...your help is much appreciated. THANKS!!

Sure will, Moe! A dedicated teacher is invaluable.
Sorry to see he's so far behind, though! Hope posting it here helps.

I'm in Moe. That's right in my wheel-house. There was a time when all I wanted to do was be a Music Ed major at Berklee. Always pulling for the folks that "did it".

That's cool Chuck! My 12 year old wants to go to Berklee. He wants to be a composer....and he's in the "A" Jazz band (he plays tenor sax), the only 6th grader who made the cut. Mr. Redmond sends him home with CDs of the jazz greats- Coltrane etc. - to listen to. I have no musical ability beyond writing the check at the music store and clapping really good...glad my kids are all musical.

I play tenor sax too, and I was the drum major in high school. Voted.
