There's a kids' book I used to enjoy reading to my little ones a few years back -- it was entitled, "What You Do Is Easy; What I Do Is Hard."

This whole thread has made me giggle. Like Kara, there are times I don't want to perform. I just end up saying something dumb like "this conversation is being recorded for quality assurance purposes." "I am doing it" sounds so much better!

i usually say, (to an accountant, for example) - sure, why don;t you add something for me. ... response determined by others profession ...

similar...
a couple of weeks after i got out of radio i was at the market. the girl said. "didn't you used to be todd ellis?"

i said "yep. mary gordon now ... nice to meetcha."
